Founded to take the fear — and the surprises — out of the dentist

Dr Rachel Tan started Lumio in 2012 with two frustrations in mind: patients who dreaded the chair, and patients who dreaded the bill. So she built a clinic around the opposite — gentle, unhurried care, and prices set out clearly before anything begins.

That means sedation options for the anxious, plain-language explanations instead of jargon, and an honest “this can wait” when it can. It means showing you the CHAS or Medisave subsidy up front, and never selling you treatment you don’t need.

Twelve years and four clinics later, it’s still the whole idea — dentistry you can actually trust, for the whole family.
