Frequently asked
A bookseller reads every title — often out loud to a child — before we ever shelve it. The shop is arranged by reading stage as much as by age, so we can match a book to how your child actually reads, not just to their birthday. Anything that doesn't pull its weight simply doesn't make the cut.
Give it three things — your child's age, where they are with reading (pre-reader, learning to read or confident reader) and what they're into, from animals to adventure to bedtime — and it pulls two to four fitting books off our shelves in a blink, each with a line on why it suits. Pop a pick into your bag from there, or open the book's page for the full story.
We do, and it is free. Choose gift wrap at checkout and we will wrap your books in recycled kraft and add a handwritten note in your words — lovely for birthdays, full-month celebrations, Children's Day or a new baby. Just tell us what to write in the order notes.
Spend over S$60 and we cover islandwide delivery; most orders arrive within a couple of working days. In a rush for a birthday? Drop us a WhatsApp before you place the order and we'll tell you straight whether it can be hurried along.
No problem — unread books in their original condition come back to us for a refund or swap inside 14 days. And if a story simply doesn't suit your child's stage, message a bookseller; we'd much rather find one that clicks than have you stuck with a dud.
At the till you can use PayNow, any major debit or credit card, the Apple and Google wallets, or Atome to spread the cost across instalments. Whatever you pick, the total sits in front of you in Singapore dollars before you commit.
We do, properly. Our Homegrown SG corner curates a real selection of local and bilingual books across English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil — never just a token shelf. Tell us the language and the age, and we'll point you to the strongest handful we carry.
Please do — we keep two cosy shopfronts, Storynest @ Tiong Bahru and Storynest @ Katong, each with a reading nook where little ones may settle in and try a book first. A bookseller is always on hand to help you land on the right story.
Regularly. We assemble class sets, reading-corner collections and level-by-level lists, and we bill registered schools and preschools by invoice. Tell us the year group or the theme, and a bookseller will put together a recommended list with a bulk price.
