Yes. Searching, shortlisting and enquiring through Gather costs you nothing — there is no booking fee and no markup on the venue's price. We are paid by the venues when a booking is confirmed, which keeps our incentive simple: match you to a space you are happy with, because a happy host books again and refers a friend. The from-price you see on a listing is the venue's own rate, not a number we have inflated.
You absolutely can call venues yourself — Gather just makes it faster and fairer. Instead of re-typing your event details into six different contact forms and waiting on six separate replies, you send one brief to your whole shortlist and compare real availability and quotes side by side. And because we have visited every space, the capacities and photos are honest, so you are not driving across the island to discover a "180-seat ballroom" actually fits 120.
It is a quick filter, not a recommendation engine. You choose an event type, a guest-count band, a preferred area and a budget per head, and it shows you the matching spaces on our shelf right now — how many fit, their names, their from-prices and an Enquire button. It exists to narrow 600 venues down to a handful worth your time in about thirty seconds. The real shortlist still benefits from a human eye, which is why every match links straight through to an enquiry.
We work hard to keep them honest. Every venue is visited before it goes live, the standing and seated capacities are the numbers the room genuinely holds for an event (not a fire-code maximum), and the from-price is the venue's real starting rate. Many spaces price on a minimum spend or a per-table package rather than a flat hourly rate, and where that is the case we say so on the listing. Your final quote comes from the venue directly and depends on your date, guest count, food and drink — so treat the listing figures as an honest starting point, not a fixed quote.
Most venues on Gather reply within a few hours during business hours, and nearly all within a day. When you enquire, your brief goes to the venue's own events team along with the details they need to quote — your date, guest count, event type and budget — so they can come back with something useful rather than a "thanks, when can you call?". If a space goes quiet, message our concierge and we will chase it for you or suggest a comparable room.
That is exactly what our host concierge is for. Send us the basics — what you are celebrating, roughly how many guests, your area and your budget — and we will come back with a shortlist of spaces that genuinely fit, including the watch-outs a listing photo never shows: where the noise limit bites, whether you can bring your own caterer, how the loading access works. It is a free service for hosts, and especially handy for the trickier briefs like a tight-budget wedding or a hybrid corporate event.
You pay the venue directly. Once you have chosen a space and agreed the details, the deposit and balance are settled with the venue itself — most take PayNow, and many accept cards or instalments through their own systems. Gather is the matchmaker, not the cashier, so your money goes straight to the people running your event with no platform in the middle holding it. We simply stay reachable in case anything needs smoothing before the day.
A broad range. On the event side we cover weddings and solemnisations, corporate functions and seminars, birthdays and milestone parties, and workshops and social gatherings like showers, supper clubs and team-bonding days. On the space side that means ballrooms, hotel function rooms, rooftop bars, restaurants and private dining rooms, industrial lofts and studios, galleries, seminar suites and heartland halls — from an intimate room for twenty to a banquet hall for several hundred, across the whole island.
With real care, following Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act. The details you submit with an enquiry reach only the specific venues you choose to contact, so they can prepare a quote — never sold on, and never blasted to spaces you did not select. Ask us at any time to show you what we hold, or to delete it. The venues themselves carry the same PDPA obligations for whatever you share with them directly.
