From a Kandahar Street bench, for skin that wants fewer, better things
Leaf & Loam started in 2018 when our founder Mariam Suhaila, worn out by shelves of products that promised the moon and irritated her skin instead, began blending small batches of plant oils and extracts in a rented shophouse kitchen off Kandahar Street. She kept one rule: every ingredient had to earn its place, and she had to be able to say out loud why it was there.
That rule turned into the brand. We make a deliberately short range — around a dozen formulas, not a hundred — each built on a well-studied botanical, listed in full on the label, with no synthetic fragrance, no padding and no claim we cannot stand behind. We blend in small lots so nothing sits going stale, and we take our glass bottles back to refill them.
Leaf & Loam is now part of the routine in more than 31,000 Singapore homes, but the test has not budged: if Mariam would not happily use a formula on her own reactive skin, our name does not go on the bottle.
What we stand on
Botanicals you can name
Cold-pressed plant oils and studied extracts do the work, and the label spells out every active and why it is in the bottle.
Mixed in tiny lots
We blend by hand at our Kandahar Street bench and date each batch, so a bottle reaches you fresh rather than after a year in a warehouse.
Refill, don’t rebuy
Return a clean glass bottle for a discounted top-up. Cartons are recycled board and there is not a microplastic in sight.
Come and find us
Swatch the textures, breathe in the botanicals, and bring a bottle back to refill.
