About this service
Ortho-K — orthokeratology — uses precisely shaped rigid lenses worn only while you sleep. They gently and reversibly reshape the front surface of the cornea overnight, so you wake to clear vision and spend the day with no glasses and no contacts in. By morning they come out, and they go back in the next night.
For children, Ortho-K is one of the most effective tools we have for slowing myopia progression, which is why it sits at the centre of many of our myopia-control programmes. For adults, it is a way to have glasses-free days — sport, swimming, travel — without laser surgery and without daytime lenses.
It is a custom, measured process: corneal topography, a precise lens design, and careful follow-up to make sure the cornea is responding well and staying healthy. It is not for everyone, and we will tell you honestly whether your eyes are suited to it before you commit.
Who it’s for
Children on a myopia-control plan, and adults who want glasses-free days without surgery.
