Everything people usually ask before their first lesson. Still wondering something? Just message us.
Almost certainly yes. The large majority of people who think they “can’t sing” simply have not been taught how to use their voice — pitch, breath and tone are skills that improve with the right coaching, not fixed talents you are born with or without. Plenty of our happiest students started off convinced they were hopeless. A relaxed trial lesson settles it: we assess your voice, show you a quick win, and you decide from there.
We coach from around seven years old all the way through adulthood, with no upper limit. Our teen programme is pitched specially for changing voices, and a good half of our students are working adults picking singing back up or starting fresh. Whatever your age, lessons are built around where your voice is now, so you are never out of place.
A standard private lesson is 50 minutes; younger singers and quick tune-ups often take 25 or 45 minutes. Weekly lessons give the fastest, most reliable progress because the technique stays fresh between sessions, but fortnightly works well for busy schedules. We keep it flexible and your coach will suggest a rhythm that fits your goal and your life.
A trial is a full 50-minute private lesson, not a sales pitch. Your coach listens to your voice, does a short, friendly assessment of where it sits, works on one or two things to give you an early win, and sketches a plan for where you could go. You will leave with a clearer sense of your voice and a starter practice idea — and absolutely no obligation to sign up for anything.
Yes — it is one of the things we do most. Our audition and exam prep covers school and conservatory auditions, theatre castings and graded exams such as ABRSM, RSL/Rockschool and Trinity. We help choose repertoire that suits you and fits the brief, drill it until it holds under pressure, cover sight-singing or aural where needed, and run full mock auditions. We can’t promise an outcome, but we will make sure you are genuinely ready.
Both, and more. Our coaches cover pop and R&B, classical, and musical theatre, and we match you to a coach who knows your style. Most students sing the music they actually listen to — that is what keeps practice enjoyable — while building technique that crosses every genre. If your taste shifts, the coaching follows it.
Definitely. Our guided studio recording is designed for exactly that: a coach sits with you in the studio, warms you up, and directs you take by take so you get an expressive, usable recording rather than a frustrating afternoon. It is popular for original releases, demos, audition cuts and even gifts. You leave with the raw stems and a rough mix the same day, and can add light mixing and tuning if you want it polished.
Yes. Online lessons run over a clear video call and cover everything an in-studio session does — warm-ups, technique, song work and practice notes — with your usual coach. They suit students who have moved overseas, frequent travellers, or anyone who prefers learning from home. Many people blend online most weeks with in-studio sessions before a performance or recording, and your progress carries across both.
