Frequently asked questions

The honest answers to what people ask us most — bills, deposits, minimum stays, viewings and the day-to-day of co-living. Still wondering something? Just message us.

Co-living is renting a furnished private room or studio in a managed building, with the bills, the wifi and the housekeeping of the common areas already taken care of. The difference from a normal rental is that you skip the deposit-heavy, year-long lease and the hassle of buying furniture, setting up utilities and chasing housemates for the bills — you move in with a suitcase, pay one monthly figure, and a team keeps the place running. You also land in a ready-made community rather than an empty flat full of strangers.
One predictable figure covers your room, fibre wifi, water and electricity, and regular housekeeping of the shared spaces. Furniture, air-con and the building amenities — lounges, kitchens, co-working corners and rooftops — are all part of it too. There are no agent commissions and no surprise top-ups: the price you are quoted is the price you pay each month, by PayNow or card.
Our minimum stay is four weeks, and from there you can stay as long as you like — many residents start with a few months and end up renewing for a year or more. We ask for sensible notice when you decide to move on, which we will spell out clearly in your agreement. The whole point is flexibility: plans change quickly in Singapore, so your lease is built to bend rather than trap you.
The deposit is one month’s rent, paid by PayNow or card, and it is returned to you fairly at the end of your stay once the room is handed back in good order. There are no agent commissions at all — we are the operator, not a middleman, so you deal with us directly. That usually makes moving in with Stack noticeably cheaper upfront than a conventional rental through an agent.
Yes, and we encourage it. Send us a message on WhatsApp or submit an enquiry, then we’ll show you the actual room and the common spaces — in person if you are in Singapore, or over a live video walkthrough if you are still overseas. We would rather you see exactly what you are getting and meet the vibe of the house than commit blind to a listing photo.
Mostly working professionals, postgrads and people new to the city — a friendly, settled mix rather than a party house. We curate each home and keep an eye on the balance, and we run regular dinners and socials so it is easy to meet your housemates if you want to. That said, everyone has their own lockable room, so you are as social or as private as you feel like being on any given day.
Every room is fully furnished and move-in ready: a bed (queen or double in most rooms), a wardrobe, a study desk, air-con and curtains, with fast fibre wifi throughout the building. Studios add their own kitchenette and bathroom. The shared kitchens, lounges and laundry are equipped and ready to use. You genuinely can arrive with just your clothes and start living the same day.
It depends on the building. Several of our homes are pet-friendly and a number of our larger rooms and studios are suitable for couples — just tell us when you enquire and we will point you to the right ones. Occasional overnight guests are fine within reason; we just ask you to be considerate of your housemates, since a good house runs on a bit of mutual courtesy.
Anything you share — your contact details, your move-in plans, any documents for the agreement — is used only to help you find and book a room, and kept in line with Singapore’s data-protection rules. We do not pass your information to outside parties or sign you up to marketing you never asked for. If you ever want your enquiry details removed, just say the word and we will take care of it.
