Magnetic Discovery Tiles (40 pc)
40 translucent tiles · age 3+ · price shown is for a single set
Translucent magnetic tiles that snap into flat shapes, then fold up into castles, rockets and stained-glass windows by the sun-lit window.
Why we stock it
Magnetic tiles are the rare toy that holds a toddler and a primary-schooler at the same kitchen table. Lay them flat to learn squares, triangles and hexagons, then watch a child discover — usually with a gasp — that the same flat net folds up into a 3D box. That leap from 2D shape to 3D form is real geometry, happening through hands rather than worksheets.
Each tile is sealed with strong, rivet-free magnets that grip on every edge, so builds stay up instead of collapsing in frustration. The translucent panels catch the light beautifully against a window, which quietly turns a maths toy into an art one. We deliberately stock a colour mix weighted toward primary colours so colour-mixing experiments work when stacked.
For STEM and creativity this is a workhorse: ramps for marble runs, symmetrical mandalas, a garage for small cars, or a tower as tall as the child. It nests flat for storage and pairs with the Rainbow Engineer Blocks for hybrid builds. Recommended from age three with light supervision while little ones learn that magnets are for building, not mouths.
