I started in the edit, and it never left me.
I came to directing through editing, which means I think in cuts before I think in shots. On set I am already imagining how a moment will sit next to the one before it. That habit keeps my films lean — I shoot what the story needs and very little it doesn’t.
My narrative work has carried me into festivals; my commercial work has taught me to protect one idea through a dozen meetings. Both feed each other. A brand film made with a storyteller’s instinct outlasts a campaign, and a festival short made with a producer’s discipline actually gets finished.
Most of all, I want the people in front of my camera — actors, founders, hawkers, musicians — to feel seen rather than used. That is the difference between a film people skip and one they send to a friend.

The small team behind the films

Ezra Koh
Ezra has directed across narrative, commercial and documentary work since 2018. He writes most of what he shoots and grades most of what he edits, which is why his films feel of a piece.

Hafiz Rahman
Hafiz has shot with Ezra on most of his recent films. He lights for emotion first, and is happiest on a lean night unit chasing available light.

Germaine Foo
Germaine runs the logistics — permits, locations, scheduling and budget — so the set stays calm and the director can stay on the film.
