Northbound Capital was founded in 2016 by people who had been on the investing side and watched too many good companies raise badly — wrong amount, wrong investors, terms they regretted. We started the firm to put that experience on the founder's side of the table.
We are deliberately small and deliberately selective. We take on the mandates where we believe we can genuinely move the outcome, and we tell founders honestly when the timing or the readiness is not there yet. A raise done badly is expensive forever; an honest no today is worth more than a stalled process tomorrow.
