Walk-ins are welcome whenever a chair is free, but Tras Street fills up fast on evenings and Saturdays, so a chair is never guaranteed without a booking. The surest way is to message us or reserve online and pick your barber and time — that way the chair you want is held for you and there’s no waiting around. Members on the Sharp Club always have a reserved standing slot.
Every cut is to the same Ironside standard whoever does it. The tier only reflects experience and demand: any trained Ironside barber is the base price and usually the soonest slot; a named senior barber is a touch more; and the master chair with Reuben, our founder, is the top tier — best for restyles, weddings and the full service. The price for each tier is posted on the menu, so you choose what suits you before you sit down.
Please do — a photo is the clearest way to show what you’re after, and we’d much rather see one than guess from words. Your barber will look at it honestly against your hair type, face shape and how your hair grows, and tell you what will actually work versus what looked good on someone with completely different hair. The consultation before the cut is exactly for this.
Yes — hot towels to prep the skin, a brush-and-soap lather rather than canned foam, and a genuine open straight razor shaved with and then against the grain for closeness, finished with a cold towel and balm. It’s a proper traditional wet shave done by a barber trained on the blade, not a quick tidy-up with a trimmer. It’s also our most-gifted service if you’re after a voucher.
We do, and we’re patient with the young ones — the Father & Son Cut books a child and a parent into neighbouring chairs so the little one watches you go first. We keep a child’s cut kid-appropriate rather than a shrunk-down adult style, will save a keepsake snip from a genuine first cut if you’d like, and never make a fuss over a few tears. Plenty of families come in on a regular Saturday rhythm.
It depends on the cut. A skin fade looks its sharpest for about two to three weeks before the blend grows soft, so fade regulars tend to come fortnightly. A longer scissor cut holds its shape for three to four weeks. Beards are usually every two to three weeks to keep the lines clean. We’ll let you know when yours is due and can set a standing slot so you never end up looking overdue.
You can pay by PayNow, card or Atome — whatever’s easiest. Prices on the menu are the prices you pay; there are no compulsory service charges added at the counter. Tipping is entirely up to you and never expected — a good cut and a returning regular is the tip our barbers actually care about. Gift vouchers are available for any service if you’re buying for someone else.
Two, and for regulars they pay for themselves. The Sharp Club is a set monthly rate for up to two cuts a month with a reserved standing slot, priority on Saturdays and 10% off shaves and add-ons. Beard & Blade adds a monthly beard sculpt and a hot-towel shave for the bearded. Both are simple monthly reservations — no long lock-in — and you can pause them if you’re travelling. Ask your barber and we’ll set one up.
Whatever you share when you book — your name, mobile and any notes on your hair — stays with Ironside and is kept under Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). It exists for one reason: to run your booking, hold your standing chair and nudge you when a cut is overdue. Nothing is sold on, nothing is used to spam you, and a quick word from you has it wiped whenever you like.
