What these lessons are like
The violin asks for patience in its first months — there is posture, the bow hold and tuning to settle before the sweet tone arrives — and that is exactly why a calm, encouraging teacher matters so much. We start every violinist with the body and the bow before the left hand, so that when the notes come, they come out singing rather than scratching.
From there it is the same steady building we love: reading music, playing in tune, shaping a phrase so it means something. We size and help you rent a first instrument so nobody buys the wrong thing, and we make the early pieces genuinely enjoyable so the practice keeps happening at home.
Violinists who want it can work towards ABRSM or Trinity grades, and our string students often join a piano student for a duet at the studio recital — there is nothing quite like playing music with someone else for the first time.
