Kindergarten Preschool English Preparatory
A gentle start to reading, phonics and the very first written stories — building a child who likes English before P1.
Primary Composition & Writing is the heart of Inklings and the reason most families find us. Through the Inklings Story-Spine method, children learn that a good composition is built, not magicked — first a plan, then a shape, then the language that brings it alive. We take the panic out of the blank page.
Every term works on the full craft: planning a prompt quickly, structuring a beginning, build-up, climax and resolution, and layering in the description, dialogue and "show-don't-tell" that lift a piece from a flat retelling to a story a marker remembers. Vocabulary is taught in context and actually used, never drilled as lists to forget.
From P1 foundations to PSLE-ready continuous writing, the progression is deliberate. Younger pupils build a story with a beginning, middle and end; older pupils tackle the full PSLE format with planning, model language and timed practice. Each composition comes back individually marked, with the next step made clear — so progress is visible term on term.
P1–P6 pupils who freeze at "write a composition", or strong writers ready to stand out.
The skills we build, term on term, with individual marking on every piece.

Classes are capped and fill fast — especially the PSLE and O-Level slots. Book a trial and we'll place your child after a short chat.
