Mixed Dorm Bed

A bunk in our 8-bed mixed dorm — the cheapest, friendliest way to stay in the middle of town.

The mixed dorm is where Bunkmate earns its name. Eight sturdy timber bunks, each with its own reading light, charging point, privacy curtain and a full-height locker underneath, share one bright, fan-and-aircon-cooled room a floor above the common lounge. It is the cheapest bed in the house and, honestly, the most fun one.

We keep the dorm small on purpose. Eight beds is enough to fill a walking tour or a hawker-supper crew, but few enough that you actually learn everyone’s name by the second night. Bedding is fresh on every changeover, mattresses are proper sprung ones rather than thin foam, and the curtains mean you can still get a real sleep when your bunkmate’s flight lands at 2am.

Check in any time — reception never closes — drop your bag in the locker, and head down to the lounge. Most solo guests who book the mixed dorm tell us they came for the price and stayed for the people.
