Dance shouldn’t be intimidating
Mainstage began in 2019, in a single rented room above Bugis, with a frustration our founder Renee couldn’t shake: the people most desperate to dance K-pop were the ones convinced they’d embarrass themselves in a class. The studios that existed were built for dancers who could already dance.
So we built the opposite. Breakdowns slow enough for someone who’s never moved, instructors who remember being that nervous, and a no-audition, no-judgement door. The catch was simple: we’d never water the choreography down to make it easy. Beginners deserve the real dance, just taught patiently.
Seven years on, we run eighteen classes a week across two studios and four performance crews — and the room is still full of people who arrived swearing they had "no rhythm".

Genuinely beginner-first
We built the studio around people who’ve never danced. Slow breakdowns, zero judgement, and instructors who remember being nervous beginners themselves.
