What does a Subtext site actually do for my Singapore coffee bar?
It turns your café’s website into an order-ahead and discovery engine in about a week from S$900. You get a warm, atmospheric site you can try yourself in the live demo, an order-ahead and reserve flow, the signature Flavour Profile Finder that matches taste to a drink and a bag of beans, a drinks menu, house-roasted beans, a brew bar, bookable workshops and outlet pages — all built to turn searches into walk-ins, orders and bean sales, and yours to own outright with running costs from S$15/mo.
People choose a coffee bar on feel and on trust — they want to sense it’s the kind of place that takes its coffee seriously, to see what’s on the menu, and to order without queueing in the morning crush. Yet many cafés run a stale site that buries the address, shows no menu, and gives no reason to pick them over the chain downstairs. Subtext flips that: a warm cream-and-amber site with a cinematic espresso hero, a clear menu, house beans, named baristas, easy outlet pages and an instant flavour matcher — so a visitor goes from “is this place any good?” to an order placed ahead in a couple of taps.
The signature Flavour Profile Finder is the standout, and it does the thing a café most wants its site to do: help a curious drinker find their cup. A visitor picks how they take their coffee — roast, with or without milk, brew method, flavour leaning — and the tool matches them a pour to order and a bag of house-roasted beans to take home, each with tasting notes and a price, then sends a pre-filled order to WhatsApp. It sells the experience and the beans in one move.
And it’s an asset you own, not a rental. You keep 100% of the code and a self-editable CMS, so you update the menu, the beans, the workshops, the outlets and the finder’s recommendations yourself without paying a developer per change. After launch you only pay what you choose — managed hosting from S$15/mo and optional care from S$150/mo. Start at S$900, then add an online reservation calendar, neighbourhood landing pages, a subscriber area or CRM integration as you grow, up to around S$2,600.
- Launch in 7–14 days from S$900 — a real order-ahead engine, not a stale brochure site.
- A warm, atmospheric design that conveys “serious about coffee” before the first sip.
- The Flavour Profile Finder matches taste to a drink AND a bag of beans — and sends the order warm.
- A clear menu, outlet hours and MRT, and bean sales — the things coffee drinkers actually search for.
- You own 100% of the code plus a self-editable CMS — update the menu and beans yourself, no agency lock-in.
- Predictable running costs: managed hosting from S$15/mo and optional care from S$150/mo, not an open-ended retainer.

What problems does a done-for-you Subtext site fix that DIY and freelancers don’t?
It removes what frustrates most café owners: a stale, slow site, no menu online, no order-ahead, hidden hours and outlets, no way to sell beans or fill workshops, a look that doesn’t convey craft, sites you can’t edit, agency lock-in, missing local SEO and surprise costs. You get a complete, atmosphere-first coffee-bar website — with the Flavour Profile Finder, order-ahead, a menu, beans, a brew bar and bookable workshops — that you own outright, live in 7–14 days from S$900.
Most coffee bars trying to fix their web presence hit the same wall. A stale site is slow on mobile, buries the address and the hours, shows no menu, and gives no reason to order ahead — so a passer-by just goes to the nearest chain. A cheap template looks generic and signals nothing about the care that goes into the cup. A freelancer can vanish mid-build or hand over something you can’t touch. A full agency may quote thousands and tie you to their platform. Subtext is designed to remove each of those frustrations.
Speed and conversion: instead of months of theme-wrangling, your site is customised from a proven, warm coffee-bar demo and typically delivered in 7–14 days — with a cinematic hero, the Flavour Profile Finder, a menu, house beans, named baristas, outlet pages and an order-ahead flow that actually turn searches into orders and walk-ins.
A look that conveys craft: specialty coffee is bought on feel, so the design is a warm, atmospheric cream-and-amber system with cinematic photography, a real menu, named baristas and honest reviews. It reads as a café that takes its coffee seriously rather than a recoloured template — exactly what makes a drinker choose you over the chain.
Ownership and cost: you own 100% of the code and edit everything — menu, beans, workshops, outlets, finder recommendations — through a self-editable CMS, so you’re never tied to a retainer. On-page SEO, GA4 and clean markup are delivered as standard. Pricing is a transparent customiser from S$900 to S$2,600 with 3 revision rounds included — no vague “it depends” invoices.
- Stale, slow site → A fast, mobile-first, atmospheric coffee-bar site that conveys craft.
- Hard to order → Order-ahead plus WhatsApp-first ordering on every page, no cart needed.
- No menu, hidden hours & outlets → A clear menu, named baristas and outlet pages with hours & MRT.
- No way to sell beans or fill classes → House-bean pages and bookable workshops built in.
- Can’t edit it yourself → A self-editable CMS lets you update the menu, beans and hours without a developer.
- Locked into an agency → You own 100% of the code; hosting (from S$15/mo) and care (from S$150/mo) are optional.
- Surprise costs → A transparent customiser shows your price from S$900 to S$2,600 up front, 3 revisions included.

SGBP vs a Singapore agency, freelancer or DIY — which is right for your coffee-bar site?
For a Singapore coffee bar, SGBP customises the live Subtext site — Flavour Profile Finder, order-ahead, menu, beans and bookable workshops and all — in 7–14 days from S$900 to S$2,600, and you own 100% of the code with no lock-in. Singapore agencies typically quote far more over several weeks; freelancers vary widely; a DIY builder is cheapest but rarely converts or conveys craft.
Most Singapore agencies do solid work, but a custom café site is often a multi-thousand-dollar scope spread over weeks — and many keep you on their platform. You can end up paying for process you don’t need when there’s already a proven, atmosphere-first coffee-bar design ready to customise.
A freelancer can be cheaper and faster, but quality, code ownership and follow-up swing widely — and café-specific touches like the Flavour Profile Finder, order-ahead, a menu, house-bean pages and bookable workshops are rarely built in well. A DIY website builder is the lowest cash outlay, but it rarely converts, seldom conveys the care behind the cup, and leaves you wrestling templates instead of running the bar.
SGBP sits in between on purpose: you start from the live Subtext demo, so you can see and click exactly what you’re buying, then we customise it to your café and menu. Every build is delivered with on-page SEO (with an SEO/AEO upgrade option), SSL, GA4, PDPA-aware forms, a self-editable CMS and a handover manual — the things that often become paid “add-ons” elsewhere.
- Time and cost: 7–14 days, from S$900 to S$2,600 one-time, versus the weeks and far higher fees a custom agency build typically involves.
- Ownership: you keep 100% of the code and your content — no platform lock-in.
- See before you buy: the live Subtext demo is the actual product, Flavour Profile Finder and order-ahead and all.
- Built to convert: the finder, order-ahead, menu, beans and workshops are part of the build, not quoted extra.
- Singapore-ready: PayNow & PDPA-aware data handling, real neighbourhoods and MRT, local tone and SGD pricing throughout.
- Optional, not obligatory: managed hosting from S$15/mo and a Care plan from S$150/mo if you want it hands-off.

What is under the hood of your Subtext coffee-bar site?
Under the hood is static-first Astro, exactly what this demo runs on, or a hardened WordPress or Webflow build, served over a global CDN with modern compression and caching. It is fast, WCAG 2.2 AA accessible, SSL-secured and PDPA-aware, and yours to deploy anywhere.
The native build, exactly what this demo runs on, is static-first Astro with a headless CMS and minimal JavaScript. Prefer a familiar CMS? We build a hardened WordPress (+S$250) or Webflow (+S$200) site instead. Whichever you choose, it’s served over a global CDN with modern compression and caching, so it stays fast during a morning rush or a campaign spike.
We tune for Core Web Vitals: the cinematic hero, the menu cards and the bean photography are lazy-loaded in modern formats (WebP/AVIF) with set dimensions to avoid layout shift, so the site and the interactive Flavour Profile Finder stay snappy on every device — including the phones most people order from. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA so the menu and ordering flow are usable by everyone.
SSL/HTTPS and security headers are enforced, the order-ahead and reservation forms are spam-protected, and data handling is PDPA-aware. Add CRM integration and orders or enquiries can pipe into your workflow. You own 100% of the source code, with no lock-in, so you can host with us from S$15/mo or deploy anywhere yourself.
- Static-first Astro, or a hardened WordPress or Webflow build
- Core Web Vitals tuned; WCAG 2.2 AA accessible, semantic HTML
- Interactive Flavour Profile Finder runs efficiently client-side
- SSL/HTTPS and security headers; PDPA-aware data handling
- Spam-protected order-ahead & reservation forms with optional CRM integration
- Clean SEO markup, XML sitemaps and GA4 included as standard
- 100% source-code ownership, no lock-in, deploy anywhere

Will my Subtext site rank on Google and get quoted by ChatGPT?
Every build is delivered search-ready: clean semantic HTML, a JSON-LD schema graph (CafeOrCoffeeShop / LocalBusiness, Menu, FAQ, Review, Breadcrumb), fast Core Web Vitals, XML sitemaps and Search Console. Answer-first content and Singapore signals — real neighbourhoods, MRT stations, PayNow, PDPA, natural local language — give Google, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and voice assistants what they need to find and quote you. No rankings are guaranteed.
Plenty of café sites are built to look fine and little else — slow pages, messy markup, no menu in text, no structured data — so neither Google nor AI engines can tell what you serve or where you are. We build the opposite. Your Subtext site is delivered with clean semantic HTML5, correct heading order, descriptive alt text, canonical tags and a tidy URL structure, with the menu as real text rather than a flat image. Rankings always depend on your area and competition, but the technical groundwork is done right from day one.
Here’s the jargon in plain terms. SEO helps you rank on Google for searches like “specialty coffee Telok Ayer” or “best flat white Tiong Bahru”. AEO and AIO help your content get surfaced and quoted by ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews when someone asks where to get a good pour-over nearby. GEO makes sure those answers know you serve Singapore and your neighbourhood. Voice covers Siri, Google Assistant and Alexa.
The engine is a JSON-LD schema graph baked into every page: CafeOrCoffeeShop / LocalBusiness markup so your bars and hours are machine-readable; Menu markup for your drinks and prices; FAQPage so your common answers can be lifted into AI replies; Review markup for trust; BreadcrumbList for structure. The advanced SEO/AEO pack adds speakable markup, Bing and Search Console setup, neighbourhood landing pages and an answer-engine optimisation pass — an optional upgrade on the S$900 base build.
- Clean semantic markup: HTML5 structure, logical headings, descriptive alt text and canonical tags, menu as real text.
- Full JSON-LD schema graph: CafeOrCoffeeShop / LocalBusiness, Menu, FAQPage, Review and BreadcrumbList.
- Outlet & neighbourhood pages target high-intent local long-tail: “specialty coffee Telok Ayer”, “coffee workshop Tiong Bahru”.
- Fast Core Web Vitals: image-optimised, mobile-first pages — a Google ranking factor that also keeps visitors from bouncing.
- Answer-first content: menu copy and FAQs written question-led and concise, so AI engines can quote them cleanly.
- Sitemaps & Search Console: XML and image sitemaps plus robots.txt submitted to Google (and Bing).
- Singapore signals: real neighbourhoods, MRT stations, PayNow, PDPA-aware handling and natural local language.
- You own 100% of the code with a self-editable CMS — update a drink or bean and its SEO fields and schema update automatically.

What does each page of my Subtext coffee-bar site actually look like?
You get a full café site, not a single page: an atmospheric homepage with a full-bleed espresso hero, a drinks menu with a detail page per drink, an Our Coffee page with a detail page per bean, a brew bar, a dedicated Flavour Profile Finder, bookable workshops with detail pages, outlet pages, an about page, an FAQ and an order-ahead / contact page — rebuilt with your café, menu and tone.
We start from the live Subtext demo and rebuild every page around your café, brand and menu. Nothing stays as filler: your drinks, beans, workshops, outlet photos, hours, copy and reviews replace the demo content, and each page keeps the features that make the demo convert — the cinematic hero, the menu cards, the Flavour Profile Finder, the bean pages, the workshops and the order-ahead flow — wired to you.
Every page is delivered mobile-first with clean SEO markup, PDPA-aware forms and a self-editable CMS, so you can update hours, add a drink or edit a bean long after handover. The pages below are what’s included in the base S$900 build; site scope, an online reservation calendar, advanced SEO, a subscriber area and CRM integration are where the customiser adds cost, up to S$2,600.
Singapore signals are built in where they help: real neighbourhoods and MRT stations, PayNow, a warm local tone and honest copy throughout. You own 100% of the code, and it’s typically delivered in 7–14 days.
- Homepage — a full-bleed espresso hero, a curved intro, menu cards, a stats band, a house-roast split, brew methods, the Flavour Profile Finder, workshops, outlets, reviews and an order-ahead CTA — all rebranded to you.
- Menu — every drink as a card grouped by category in a filter-sidebar listing, each linking to a detail page.
- Drink detail — a dark photo banner with price and an in-the-cup write-up, how-we-serve-it and pairings.
- Our Coffee — house-roasted beans as cards with tasting-note chips and prices, each linking to a detail page.
- Bean detail — origin, altitude, process, brew tips and a bag-to-cup roadmap.
- Brew bar — the single-origin filter story and the three brew methods.
- Flavour Profile Finder — a dedicated page hosting the signature tool and a how-it-works explainer.
- Workshops — bookable home-barista, brew and cupping classes, each with a detail page.
- Outlets — your bars with addresses, hours, MRT and order-ahead.
- About — your story, a stats band and your baristas.
- FAQ — a question accordion, ready for FAQ schema.
- Order ahead / contact — a form (no cart): order type, outlet, time and a PDPA-aware consent, plus WhatsApp.

Can the Subtext site scale from a single bar to a multi-outlet group as I grow?
Yes. Your site starts lean at five pages and scales to a 20+ page café with a full menu, neighbourhood landing pages, multiple outlets, a bean catalogue, a workshop calendar, a subscriber area, CRM integration and even a second language. Add the Flavour Profile Finder from day one. Because you own 100% of the code, there is no platform lock-in holding you back.
Most cafés launch with a focused presence and broaden as they grow. Subtext is built for that curve. Day one you might run a tight five-page site with a home, menu, the finder and order-ahead. As you grow, the customiser lets you step up to 10 or 20+ pages, adding a detail page per drink and bean, neighbourhood landing pages and a coffee-journal content engine — so growing the site is a content exercise rather than a rebuild.
Adding outlets and beans is built in: the outlet pages and bean catalogue scale through the CMS, so a second or third bar and new house roasts slot in cleanly, each strengthening your local SEO. The native Astro build is delivered as a fast, static, mobile-first site served over a global CDN, so it stays fast as the site grows. When you’re ready, switch on an online reservation calendar, a subscriber area and CRM integration.
Serving more languages? A multilingual content layer can be added across key pages, with your Singapore positioning staying native. The real future-proofing is ownership: you hold 100% of the code and your content, delivered with a handover manual in 7–14 days, so the same codebase extends instead of forcing a restart.
- Site scope scales from 5 to 20+ pages; add drinks, beans, neighbourhood pages and a journal as content rather than a rebuild
- The outlet pages and bean catalogue scale through the CMS — new bars and house roasts slot in and strengthen local SEO
- The native Astro build is static and CDN-served, so it stays fast as you grow; WordPress / Webflow builds are hardened and CDN-served too
- Automate as you grow: an online reservation calendar, a subscriber / bean-subscription area and CRM integration
- Add channels: WhatsApp order-ahead, live chat and a secure member area
- A multilingual content layer is available for more guests, with your Singapore positioning native
- You own 100% of the code and your content, so there is no forced re-platform as you scale

Can I run my Subtext site myself without a developer?
Yes. Your site is delivered with a self-editable CMS, so you add and edit drinks, beans, workshops, outlet hours, the Flavour Profile Finder’s recommendations, pages and reviews, and check your GA4 numbers without touching code. Every task is documented in a plain-English handover manual, and you own 100% of the build.
Running a café site is mostly small, repeatable updates: a seasonal drink, a sold-out cold brew, a new house roast, changed opening hours, a public-holiday notice, a fresh review. We build all of this into a clean CMS dashboard, so you log in, change the thing you came to change and hit publish. No staging files, no FTP, no “please email the developer”.
Each module from the live demo has a matching settings panel. Your drinks and prices, your beans and tasting notes, your workshops and dates, your outlets and hours, the Flavour Profile Finder’s drinks, beans and match weighting, and the form routing are all configurable from labelled fields. The order-ahead recipient is editable too, so requests reach the right bar’s inbox or WhatsApp.
Your site is delivered in 7–14 days with on-page SEO, SSL, GA4 and a PDPA-aware setup. If you ever get stuck, the step-by-step handover manual walks through every task, and your 3 included revision rounds (plus an optional Care plan from S$150/mo) mean help is on hand. But the day-to-day is genuinely designed for non-technical café staff to manage solo.
- Update opening hours — change them once and they update across the site, including a holiday notice.
- Add or edit a drink — name, category, price and content, live in minutes, and it appears on the menu.
- Add or edit a bean — origin, roast, tasting notes, brew tips and price, and it appears in Our Coffee.
- Edit the Flavour Profile Finder — adjust the drinks, beans and how the match is weighted.
- Manage workshops — add a class, set the level, dates and price, and feature it.
- Manage orders — set the order-ahead recipient, outlet routing and the PDPA consent wording.
- Check your GA4 numbers — see visitors, top drinks, finder usage and order-ahead clicks in Google Analytics.

Coffee bar website — frequently asked questions
Quick answers on cost, what’s included, timelines, ownership, platforms, the Flavour Profile Finder, order-ahead, SEO/AEO, PayNow, PDPA and revisions for a done-for-you specialty-coffee-bar website in Singapore.
How much does a coffee bar website cost in Singapore?
A done-for-you specialty-coffee-bar website in Singapore costs between S$900 and S$2,600 with SGBP. The S$900 base covers a complete, mobile-ready café site with the Flavour Profile Finder and order-ahead built in; the price rises only as you add a platform like WordPress, more pages, an online reservation calendar, a subscriber area or branding. You see the exact figure live in the customiser before you pay.
What exactly do I get for the price?
You get a fully designed and developed site built from the live Subtext demo, your menu, beans, workshops and outlets set up, the Flavour Profile Finder, an order-ahead + reserve + enquiry flow, a self-editable CMS, full source-code ownership, on-page SEO, SSL, analytics, PDPA-aware forms, 3 revision rounds and a step-by-step handover manual. Everything you select in the customiser is itemised in your order summary.
How long does it take to build and launch?
Most café sites are designed, built and launched in 7 to 14 days from payment. Larger 20+ page sites, neighbourhood landing pages, an online reservation calendar, a subscriber area or CRM integration can sit at the upper end of that range. We send a private preview link first, you use your revisions, then we launch on your domain.
Do I own the website and can I edit it myself?
Yes. You own 100% of the code and your content outright — there is no licence trap and no agency lock-in. Every build is delivered with a self-editable CMS so you can update hours, add drinks, edit beans, add workshops and refresh content yourself, with a plain-English manual to guide you.
What is the Flavour Profile Finder and how does it help?
It is the signature interactive tool, built to do what a café most wants its site to do — help a curious drinker find their cup. A visitor picks how they take their coffee — roast, milk or black, brew method and flavour leaning — and the tool matches them a pour to order and a bag of house-roasted beans to take home, each with tasting notes and a price, then sends a pre-filled order to WhatsApp. It sells the experience and the beans together, and it is fully editable in the CMS. It is a friendly guide, not a strict science.
Is this a shop — does it have a cart or checkout?
No, and deliberately so. A coffee bar runs on walk-ins, order-ahead and table reservations, not e-commerce, so the site has an order-ahead and reserve flow with WhatsApp-first ordering instead of a cart. The job of the site is to turn searches into orders, walk-ins, bean sales and workshop bookings via the Flavour Profile Finder, menu, bean pages, workshops and order-ahead form. There is no checkout. If you genuinely need a full online bean store later, we can scope that separately.
Will the design actually convey craft, or is it a recoloured template?
Specialty coffee is bought on feel, so the design is a warm, atmospheric cream-and-amber system with cinematic photography, a real menu, named baristas, honest reviews and an easy order-ahead flow. We customise the brand, colours, type, imagery and copy to your café, so it reads as your bar rather than a generic theme — exactly what makes a drinker choose you over the chain.
Which platform should I choose — Astro, WordPress or Webflow?
The native Astro build shown in the demo is the fastest and cheapest to run and the best for SEO. Choose WordPress if your café team already knows it and wants full control, or Webflow for a visual in-browser editor. The customiser shows the exact price difference for each option.
Can guests order ahead and reach me on WhatsApp?
Yes. Every build includes an order-ahead form and WhatsApp-first CTAs throughout, plus the Flavour Profile Finder which sends a pre-filled order to WhatsApp. Add the online reservation calendar for true self-service table and workshop booking, and CRM integration so orders and enquiries flow into your workflow.
Will the site rank on Google and show up in AI search?
Yes. Every build is delivered with an SEO foundation — clean markup, the menu as real text, fast Core Web Vitals, sitemaps and CafeOrCoffeeShop / LocalBusiness, Menu, FAQ and Review structured data, well suited to local coffee searches. The Advanced SEO / AEO pack adds a full schema graph, answer-engine optimisation, neighbourhood landing pages and Search Console setup so you can be found on Google and quoted by AI assistants. Rankings are never guaranteed.
How is customer data and payment handled?
At the bar a real Subtext site would take PayNow, contactless cards and e-wallets, and order-ahead is settled on collection. Online, we handle information in line with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), and your site is delivered with SSL/HTTPS by default. Order and enquiry details are stored securely, consented and never sold, and the forms capture only what is needed to respond.
What are revisions and how many are included?
A revision is a round of changes you request after seeing your preview — copy tweaks, layout changes, colour adjustments, menu edits, finder changes and the like. Three rounds are included free. If you want more breathing room you can add extra rounds at S$200 each in the customiser.
Do I need hosting and maintenance?
No — you can host the site yourself since the code is yours. If you would rather not, add Managed or Pro Hosting and a Care plan in the customiser (billed monthly or annually). Care covers updates, backups, security and small content changes — like a new seasonal drink or updated hours — so you can focus on the coffee.
