A dryer that runs but leaves the clothes damp is almost always a heat problem — a blown heating element on a vented dryer, a tripped thermal fuse, or a clogged condenser and filters on a heat-pump model choking the airflow. The squealing kind is usually a worn belt, idler or drum roller, and the dead kind is often a door switch or a control fault.
Heat-pump dryers in particular need their condenser kept clean to dry efficiently, and a surprising number of “broken” dryers just need a proper service of the airflow path. We check the element or heat pump, the thermostats and fuses, the belt and rollers and the airflow, then tell you exactly what is wrong.
On an older dryer we will give it to you straight on whether a part is worth fitting at all. The diagnosis and the parts cost come before we proceed, and the callout fee is offset against the repair once you go ahead.
