Tiong Bahru is spoilt for brunch, but this quiet corner unit keeps pulling me back. The ricotta pancakes are the headliner — tall, fluffy and not cloyingly sweet, with a tangle of macerated berries cutting the richness.
The coffee programme is the real reason to stay. The flat white is dialled in, properly textured and tastes of actual coffee rather than burnt milk. They rotate a single-origin filter that’s worth asking about.
It gets busy from 10am on weekends, so come early or aim for a weekday. The natural light by the window is unbeatable if you’re shooting your plate.

A dependable, light-filled brunch corner with coffee that takes itself seriously.
Cafés A tiny matcha café in Katong that’s worth the detour
Ceremonial-grade matcha, a pretty Peranakan-tiled corner, and a soft-serve that converted my matcha-sceptic friend.
Cafés The CBD roastery where I send every coffee snob
In-house roasting, a rotating filter menu and baristas who’ll happily geek out with you. The best espresso in the financial district, full stop.
Cafés Yes, the West has a great café now — here’s proof
A laminated-pastry programme that would hold its own in town, finally without the cross-island trek.
