A small studio, built around how it should feel
Lumé began with a simple frustration: too many salons that rush you, pass you between juniors, and send you home with a colour you did not ask for.
Renée opened Lumé in 2015, in a quiet fifth-floor space above Cairnhill, after years between salons in Tiong Bahru and London. She wanted to build the studio she always wished she could book into — small, unhurried, and run by senior stylists who actually listen.
The idea was never to be the biggest salon in Orchard. It was to be the one where a single senior stylist stays with you the whole way through, where colour is mixed and checked in real daylight, and where the answer to “can my hair do this?” is always honest.
Today a tight team of six looks after a loyal book of clients across Singapore — many of whom have been coming since the first year. We still keep the chairs few on purpose, because the unhurried feeling is the whole point.

Three things we won’t compromise on
We see your hair, not a trend
Every look is shaped to your hair type, your features and how you actually live — not a screenshot we cannot honestly deliver.
We do not rush
Appointments are timed generously. Good colour and good cutting take as long as they take.
No upselling, ever
We recommend what your hair needs and nothing more. If a trim is the right call, we will say so.
