Yes — a trial is a genuine 30-minute lesson with one of our teachers, not a sales pitch. The teacher gets to know the student, gauges where they are, plays a little, and talks through what learning here would look like. You will leave with a clear sense of the teacher, the studio and whether it feels right. There is no obligation to continue, and the trial fee is a token amount from $40 depending on the instrument.
Monthly fees depend on the instrument, the lesson length and the student’s age and level. Most weekly individual lessons sit between roughly $160 and $250 a month. Our Lesson & Trial Finder gives you an honest indicative monthly figure in seconds once you pick the instrument, age and level — and we confirm the exact fee, including any registration or material costs, before you commit to a regular slot.
We do, thoroughly — but only when the student wants to. We prepare all exam elements (pieces, scales and aural), run mock exams beforehand, and handle the exam entry and paperwork for you. Grades give a clear ladder and a real sense of achievement, and our pass rate at merit or above is strong. That said, plenty of our students never sit an exam and simply learn for the love of it, which is just as valid.
Around four to six is a lovely time to begin piano or to start musical foundations, though it really depends on the child rather than a fixed number. For very young children we keep lessons short, playful and game-based, building a love of music first and good habits second. Violin can start from about five with a fractional-sized instrument, and drums, guitar and voice tend to suit slightly older children. A trial lesson is the best way to tell if your child is ready.
Not in the slightest, and we genuinely mean it. A good number of our students are adults, some starting completely from scratch and some returning after years away. Adults often progress faster than they expect because they practise with purpose. Lessons are scheduled flexibly around work, the room is entirely judgement-free, and your teacher shapes everything around your goals — whether that is a few songs or a graded path.
Not to begin. You can start lessons and a trial without owning anything, and your teacher will then advise on the right instrument once they know the student — which matters, since a poorly chosen first instrument can hold a beginner back. For violin especially we guide on sizing and rental, and we are happy to recommend trustworthy options at a range of budgets when you are ready to buy or rent.
It is a quick guide, not a fixed quote. You choose the instrument, the student’s age group and their current level, and it suggests the programme that usually fits, the lesson format (individual or small-group) and an indicative monthly fee. It is our signature interactive feature and a great way to get your bearings — the teacher confirms the right plan, level and exact fee at the trial lesson, once they have seen the student play.
We have four studios — Bukit Timah (central), Tampines (east), Jurong East (west) and Serangoon (north-east) — each beside an MRT and inside a familiar mall or neighbourhood centre. We teach weekdays from 10am right through to 9pm to catch after-school and after-work slots, and on weekends from 9am to 6pm. Browse the studio finder to choose whichever location is closest to home or school, and see which instruments each one offers.
Whatever you give us — a contact number, your child’s name, a note about goals — stays private and is used only to set up and run your lessons, as Singapore’s PDPA requires of us. Nothing is ever sold or handed on beyond delivering your music lessons, and our forms request just the few details we genuinely need to reply and arrange a trial.
