The violin rewards careful foundations more than almost any instrument — so we take real care with posture, bow hold and tone from the very first lesson. Rushing those basics is how bad habits set in; building them gently is how a warm, even sound and accurate intonation become second nature.

How we teach violin
Younger children often start on a smaller fractional violin sized to them, and we guide families on sizing and rental so the instrument never gets in the way of progress. Lessons balance technical work with music students actually want to play, so the discipline always has a reward attached.
For those working towards grades, we prepare all three exam elements — pieces, scales and aural — and create chances to play with others, because ensemble experience is where string players grow fastest. The goal throughout is a student who not only passes, but genuinely loves the sound they make.
