Almost everything at Tailside runs by appointment so your pet is seen calmly and on time, with the right vet and enough room in the schedule. Request a slot online or over WhatsApp, usually within the same week. That said, we keep urgent same-day slots free every day — so if your pet is suddenly unwell, just call us and we will either fit you in or tell you honestly where to head.
We see dogs and cats for everything from wellness to surgery, and we also care for rabbits and the common small companion animals such as guinea pigs and hamsters for health checks and general medicine. For exotics with very specialised needs we will tell you honestly if a dedicated exotics vet is the better fit, and point you to one we trust.
Microchipping is a quick procedure we do during a normal consult, and we register the chip and help you with the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) pet licence at the same time. Licensing is a legal requirement for dogs in Singapore, and HDB has its own approved-breeds list for flats, so we will talk you through what applies to your home and breed. We keep all of it on your pet’s record for renewals.
Pets are very good at hiding illness, and a year for them is roughly five to seven of ours, so a lot can change quietly. An annual wellness visit lets us catch dental disease, lumps, weight creep, heart murmurs or early kidney and thyroid changes while they are still easy and cheap to manage. For pets aged seven and over we suggest a check every six months, because that is when the age-related conditions tend to appear.
Modern veterinary anaesthesia is very safe when done carefully, which is exactly how we do it. Every patient gets a pre-anaesthetic examination and, where age or health warrants, blood tests beforehand; we tailor the anaesthetic to your individual pet, place an intravenous catheter where appropriate, and a nurse monitors them continuously through the procedure and recovery. We are happy to talk through the specific risks for your pet before you decide.
Always. Consultations start from $48 and we give you a written estimate before any procedure, test or treatment goes ahead — nothing is done without your say-so. Our Visit Cost Estimator on this site gives an indicative range by pet and visit type to help you plan, but the figure that matters is the written quote we hand you in the clinic. We would rather you knew the cost up front than felt ambushed by the bill.
Yes. We run an in-house pharmacy, so medicines we prescribe are dispensed before you leave, with a nurse showing you how to give them. We stock prescription medications, year-round flea, tick and heartworm prevention and prescription diets, and we set up repeat prescriptions with reminders for pets on long-term treatment. Medicines are dispensed responsibly after the appropriate check-up, in line with prescribing rules.
Call our after-hours line first — a real vet will help you judge how urgent it is and what to do next. During our opening hours we triage and stabilise emergencies on arrival. Because we are a neighbourhood clinic rather than a 24-hour hospital, for cases that need overnight intensive care we stabilise your pet and refer you immediately to a trusted Singapore emergency centre, with a full handover so nothing is missed.
Your contact details and your pet’s medical records sit behind secure systems, with our data practices following Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). They are there purely to look after your pet, to fire appointment and vaccine reminders, and to satisfy licensing and prescribing obligations — nothing is sold, and nobody markets at you off the back of it. Want to see or correct what we hold? Just ask.
