What this class is like
Zumba Toning takes everything you love about a regular class and adds a pair of light maraca-style toning sticks. They are not heavy — the point is rhythm and reps, not lifting big — so you get gentle resistance through the dance without losing the flow or the fun.
Through the class we target the spots most people ask about: arms and shoulders, glutes and legs, and a fair bit of core as you stabilise through the turns. Because it is set to music and choreographed, the reps fly by and you finish toned and warm rather than wrecked.
It is a brilliant complement to Zumba Original — do a couple of cardio parties and one toning class a week and you have a genuinely well-rounded routine that still feels like a night out.
