About pigmentation & melasma
Pigmentation is deceptively complex. Melasma, sun-induced lentigines, post-inflammatory marks from old acne and the early signs of other conditions can all look similar to the eye but need very different treatment — and the wrong laser on the wrong pigment can make things considerably worse.

How we assess and diagnose it
So the consultation starts medically: examining the skin under proper lighting to identify the type and depth of pigment, and ruling out any underlying cause. Only then do we build the plan, which usually combines a prescription topical regime with carefully chosen treatments on the cosmetic track — and disciplined daily sun protection, which does more than any single procedure.

What treatment looks like
Melasma in particular is managed rather than cured; it is influenced by hormones and sun, and the honest goal is to lighten it meaningfully and keep it stable. We are upfront about that from the start, because realistic expectations are what make patients happy with their results.
- Specialist diagnosis of pigment type
- Prescription topical regime
- Pigment-selective laser options
- Daily photoprotection plan
- Honest, realistic expectations
