A few years ago our founder, Pamela, watched a friend stuck in a Hokkaido hospital discover that her bargain travel policy capped the very medical evacuation she now desperately needed. The flight home cost more than the holiday. Nobody had explained the limit; the cheap plan had simply looked the same as the others on a comparison grid.
