How a Roamsure claim works

The part most agencies stay quiet about. Here’s exactly what to do when a trip goes wrong, what to keep, and how quickly you’ll be paid — with a real adviser alongside you the whole way.

Home  /  Claims

Four steps, start to settled

Most travellers complete a straightforward claim from their phone before they’ve even unpacked.

1

Tell us what happened

Call our 24-hour line or message Roamsure as soon as it’s safe to. We’ll talk you through what to do next and what to keep — the sooner you tell us, the smoother the claim.

2

Gather your documents

Keep receipts, the medical report, the police or carrier report, boarding passes and photos. We send you a simple checklist for your exact situation so nothing’s missing.

3

Submit your claim

Upload everything through our online claim form or send it to your adviser. No printing, no posting, no queue — most travellers do it from their phone before they’ve even unpacked.

4

Get reimbursed

Once your claim is assessed and approved, you’re paid by bank transfer or PayNow. Straightforward claims are usually settled within days, and we keep you posted at every step.

What to keep, by claim type

The single biggest reason a claim slows down is a missing document. Save these the moment something happens — we’ll send you a checklist tailored to your situation too.

Medical claims

Doctor’s report or hospital discharge summary, itemised bills and receipts, and proof you paid. For evacuation, keep everything our 24-hour line tells you to.

Cancellation & cutting short

The reason for cancelling (a medical certificate, for example), your original booking confirmations, and proof of what you couldn’t get refunded elsewhere.

Baggage & delay

The airline’s Property Irregularity Report or a police report for theft, receipts for replaced items, and the carrier’s confirmation of the delay.

24-hour line

In an emergency overseas, call us first

If you’re hurt, hospitalised or stranded, ring the Roamsure 24-hour emergency line before you commit to anything. We’ll guide you to the right care, arrange direct payment where we can, and start your claim there and then — so you’re never left footing a bill you can claim back.
