A two-day Indian-Chinese celebration: a morning ceremony, a heritage-hall reception, and a lot of colour.
Shreya and Arjun’s families brought two rich traditions to one weekend, and the planning challenge was to honour both without exhausting anyone — guests included. We mapped a two-day arc: an intimate ceremony with Shreya’s family rituals on the first morning, then a CHIJMES Hall reception that let both families’ guests meet over a single, generous evening.
Colour was the throughline. We commissioned marigold and rose installations that sat beautifully against CHIJMES’ Gothic stone, briefed a live band that could move between a baraat-style entrance and a slow first dance, and built a menu that quietly carried halal, vegetarian and Chinese-banquet needs across the same room.
The logistics were the real work — two officiants, three outfit changes, a tight turnaround between ceremony and reception, and a heritage venue with strict load-in windows. Our team held the master timeline so the couple and both families could simply move through the day they’d dreamed about.
