What’s involved

The overhaul is the deepest service on our menu. Instead of treating the unit on the wall, the crew dismantles it completely — casing, blower wheel, coil block and the whole drainage assembly come down — and every component is soaked in a chemical bath, hand-scrubbed and rinsed separately before it’s rebuilt. That part-by-part approach is the only honest way to clear an aircon that’s gone years without proper attention.

This is the unit nobody else wanted to touch: fins packed solid with black mould, a tray brimming with sludge, a blower so encrusted it can barely shift air. Nothing applied on the wall reaches into that. Taking the whole assembly apart is what genuinely revives a clapped-out unit rather than nursing it along for another month.

With every piece spotless, the crew reassembles, tops up refrigerant if the reading has fallen, and runs the unit hard to verify both the cooling and the drainage. Yes, it’s pricier than a wash — but against the cost of a brand-new system, rescuing a salvageable unit this way is the cheaper call by a wide margin.
