What’s involved

General servicing is the light, recurring tidy that keeps an already-healthy unit that way. The crew rinses the filters and casing, vacuums the blower, wipes the exposed coil, frees the drain so it can’t dribble, and checks airflow and pressure — brisk, neat, and enough to head off the small issues that otherwise grow into deep-clean ones.

It’s the correct level for a unit still putting out cold air. Open one up to find it already furred, mouldy or struggling and we’ll say so plainly and point you to a chemical wash — but we won’t talk you into a deep clean on a unit that only wanted a freshen-up.

Run at a roughly quarterly cadence, general servicing widens the gap between chemical washes and keeps power use in check. It’s the upkeep tempo we set for most households, topped off with one proper chemical wash a year.
