Our story
Blackbox started in 2013 with a van, a couple of speaker stacks and a habit of saying yes to the events nobody else wanted to touch. Darius Lim was coiling cables on roadshows back then; today he designs the technical plan for our biggest stages and still calls the toughest shows himself.
Five hundred events later, the philosophy hasn’t changed. We own our core inventory so what we quote is what arrives — tested, maintained and ready. We put one crew behind sound, light, screens and staging so the cues land together. And we scope honestly: if a projector does the job, we won’t sell you an LED wall.
Most of all, we plan for the night going off-script — the flat battery, the late speaker, the venue power that trips — because in live events there is no second take. That’s the difference between gear on a stage and a show that actually runs.

What you can count on
A crew that has seen it go wrong
Five hundred shows means we plan for the flat battery, the late speaker and the venue power trip — and carry the spares to fix them.
Safety signed off, every rig
Loads calculated, structures certified, riggers sign off before anything flies. Your venue’s safety officer will thank you.
It looks the part on camera
We design for the photos and the stream, not just the room — so your recap reel looks like the event you paid for.
Honest scoping
If a projector does the job, we won’t sell you an LED wall. The quote matches the event, and we say so plainly.
The crew you’ll work with

Darius Lim
Started out coiling cables for roadshows in 2013; now designs the technical plan for Blackbox’s biggest stages and calls the toughest shows himself.

Imran Yusof
Programs every cue from a pre-viz file before he touches a real fixture, so by show day the looks already exist — he just runs them.

Rachel Koh
Keeps the run sheet, the venue and four vendors pointing the same way. If your event runs on time, it’s usually because of Rachel.
