Sound is the one thing an audience forgives the least. A speaker who can’t be heard at the back, feedback during the toast, a band that turns to mush in a hard banquet hall — it pulls people out of the moment instantly. We spec the system to the room and the headcount, not to a rental list, then tune it on the day so the front row isn’t blasted and the back row isn’t straining.
How we run it on the day
For talks and dinners we lean on point-source or compact line-array boxes with clean vocal intelligibility and just enough low end for walk-in music. For live music and concerts we scale up to a proper line array with subs, monitors and an engineer who knows how to ride a vocal over a loud stage. Either way you get redundancy on the parts that matter — a spare radio mic, a backup channel — so a flat battery never becomes a silence.
A Blackbox engineer is on site from soundcheck to the last announcement. We line-check every input, set gain structure properly, and walk the room while your MC tests the mic so you hear it where your guests will. When the night runs long, we run with it.
