Frequently asked questions

Everything pet parents usually ask before their first visit. Still wondering something? Just WhatsApp us.

We’re a destination salon — you bring your pet to our Tiong Bahru shop rather than a groomer coming to you. That means proper raised hydro-baths, professional high-velocity dryers, a separate quiet cat room and certified stylists with full equipment, none of which fits in a van. It suits owners who want a calm, cage-light salon experience and a stylist who gets to know their pet’s coat over time, rather than the convenience of an at-home visit.
Baths start from S$38 and full grooms from S$68, but the final price depends on your pet’s size, coat type and condition. A toy short-coat is quick; a large double-coat or a long, matted coat is far more work. Our Groom Package Finder gives you an honest indicative price for your exact pet in seconds, and we confirm it at drop-off before we start — heavy matting or extra de-shedding is always flagged and quoted first, never sprung on the bill.
Sometimes, kindly, yes. Tight mats pull on the skin and can’t be safely brushed out, so a short reset clip is often the most humane option — it’s never about taking the easy route. We’ll always show you the matting and explain the choice before we start. Once the coat has reset, a steady grooming rhythm plus home brushing keeps it from getting there again, and we’ll get you started on both.
It depends on the coat. Coated dogs that get clipped usually look best on a four-to-eight-week cycle; short-coated dogs are happy with a bath every few weeks; long-haired cats benefit from a brush-out every six to ten weeks. We’ll suggest a realistic rhythm for your specific pet at the first visit, and the Fresh Coat Club holds a standing slot so you never have to remember.
We genuinely groom cats. Jonathan is feline-handling trained and works cats in a separate quiet room away from barking dogs, at the cat’s own pace. We bathe, brush out and, where matting demands it, do tidy lion or teddy clips. We’re also honest about limits — some cats need a shorter session or a vet’s help for heavy matting, and we’ll never force a distressed cat.
Yes, and gently. Our salon is deliberately calm and cage-light, we build in breaks, and our Spa Package books extra unhurried time with a temperament-matched groomer for pets who find grooming stressful. We never push a frightened pet past what they can manage — if today isn’t the day, we’ll stop, finish what’s safe and tell you. For puppies, our Puppy Start Plan builds that confidence early.
A bath and tidy is about an hour to ninety minutes; a full groom two to three hours; a spa or breed-style clip a little longer. We groom at your pet’s pace rather than rushing a queue, and we WhatsApp you a “nearly ready” message so there’s no sitting in the waiting area. You’re welcome to drop off and run errands nearby in Tiong Bahru.
You’ll find us at 78 Yong Siak Street in the heart of Tiong Bahru — a short stroll from the station exit, with roadside parking along Eng Hoon Street and the nearby lots. We’re on the ground floor, so there are no stairs or lifts for older or larger dogs to negotiate. Drop-off and collection are by appointment, which lets us give every pet our full attention.
Everything you share — your contact info and any pet photos — stays private with us, looked after in line with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). It’s there purely so we can arrange your slot, fire off the “nearly ready” update, and send you the after-photo; we don’t market at you with it, and it goes to nobody outside Furtail. Want it deleted? Just say the word and it’s gone.
