What's involved
Double-coated breeds don’t need shaving — they need de-shedding. The treatment is a specialised wash with a de-shedding shampoo and conditioner that loosens the dead undercoat, followed by a high-velocity blow-out and a thorough rake that pulls the loose fur out at the salon, not onto your sofa.
It makes a real difference for the heavy shedders — Huskies, Samoyeds, Corgis, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds. A good de-shed removes a startling amount of fur, cuts the daily vacuuming for weeks, and actually helps your dog stay cooler in Singapore’s heat by clearing the dead coat that traps it.
A word of honesty: please don’t ask us to shave a double coat to “stop the shedding”. Shaving wrecks the coat’s ability to insulate and protect against the sun, and it often grows back patchy. De-shedding is the proper answer, and we’ll happily explain why when you’re in. Done seasonally or every six to eight weeks, it keeps a thick coat healthy and your home far less furry.
