Nursery (N1 & N2) at Little Banyan
In Nursery, children move from playing alongside each other to genuinely playing together, and our programme is built around that leap. Learning is organised into projects that grow out of the children’s own questions — where does rain go, why do shadows move, how tall can we build — so literacy, numeracy, science and art all arrive woven into something the children actually care about, rather than as drilled worksheets.
There is real structure underneath the play. Children meet letters and sounds, numbers and patterns, brushes and instruments every week, and we track each child’s growth quietly so we can stretch the ready ones and support the rest without anyone feeling labelled. Mandarin is part of the daily fabric, not a bolt-on, so a second language keeps developing at the age the brain is wired for it.
Just as important is the invisible curriculum: taking turns, naming big feelings, tidying up, trying again after it falls down. These are the habits that make the later school years possible, and Nursery is where they are practised, gently and daily, inside a group of friends who are growing up together.
