Home FAQ
Your first visit is mostly a proper consultation. A registered physician reads your pulse, looks at your tongue and asks about your energy, sleep, digestion, temperature and stress, then explains your TCM "constitution" in plain language. From there you get an honest plan — which treatments, how many sessions a concern like yours usually needs, and the indicative cost. Most first visits include a first treatment too. Taking our Body Constitution Quiz beforehand means we start a step ahead.
Acupuncture is far gentler than most people expect. The needles are hair-fine and single-use, sterile and disposed of after every patient, so there is no infection risk. Most people feel a tiny prick at most, then a dull, heavy or warm sensation that is part of the effect. Many find the rest with the needles in deeply relaxing — it is common to drift off. Your physician always works to your comfort.
It honestly depends on the concern and how long you have had it. Acute issues can ease within a session or two; chronic pain, sleep or women’s-health concerns usually call for a planned course of six to ten, spaced further apart as you improve. We give you a realistic estimate at your first visit rather than an open-ended commitment, and we track your progress so the plan stays honest throughout.
It is a quick five-question guide that weighs your answers about energy, sleep, digestion, temperature and stress toward the common TCM constitution patterns, then suggests a likely pattern and the treatments that usually suit it. It is a helpful starting point, not a medical diagnosis — your actual constitution is confirmed in person by a physician using pulse and tongue assessment. Think of it as a head start for your first consultation.
Those round cupping marks and the reddening from gua sha are not painful bruises in the usual sense; in TCM they reflect stagnation being drawn to the surface, and they typically fade within a few days to a week. Your physician will tell you what to expect before treating, and will adjust the intensity to your comfort. If you have an event coming up, just let us know and we will plan around it.
Safety comes first. Before prescribing, your physician asks about any medication or conditions you have, and composes your formula with that in mind, flagging anything to be careful with and adjusting accordingly. Our herbs are quality-checked and sourced from trusted suppliers. If you are on significant medication, pregnant, or under specialist care, do tell us — and we will always recommend conventional care where that is the safer route.
Yes — women’s health is one of the clinic’s real strengths. We support irregular or painful periods, perimenopausal symptoms, and pre-conception and fertility care, usually through a combination of acupuncture, moxibustion and tailored herbal formulas. Care is gentle, paced over a course, and always coordinated sensibly with any conventional treatment you are receiving. Physician Goh leads this area personally.
We have three clinics — Chinatown, Toa Payoh and Tampines — each a short walk from an MRT station and open daily from 9am to 9pm. You are welcome to walk in if a slot is free, but booking ahead is the surest way to get the physician and time you want, especially evenings and weekends. You can start a course at one clinic and continue it at another.
Your consultation notes and contact details stay confidential and are managed under Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). We use them solely to deliver and follow up on your care, never for marketing you have not opted into, and never pass them to outside parties. Just ask if you would like to see or correct anything we keep on file.

Still have a question?

We’re happy to talk it through before you book — message us or drop into any of our three clinics.
