Skills Mobility & Movement
The unglamorous work that keeps you training — wrist, shoulder and hip mobility built for bar athletes.
Anyone wanting a freestanding handstand and balance skills.
The handstand is the skill almost everyone wants and almost nobody is taught properly. It is far more balance than brute strength, which is why grinding out wall holds alone so rarely produces a freestanding handstand. Our Skills class coaches it as the practice it really is: the wrist and shoulder prep that protects you, the straight hollow line that makes balance possible, and the heel-pulls and balance taps that teach you to catch yourself off the wall.
We build it in a sensible order — wall handstand, then chest-to-wall for the line, then the small, frequent off-the-wall attempts where balance is actually learned. A coach watches your line and gives you the one cue that matters that day, which beats months of guessing on your own at home.
Handbalance pairs beautifully with the strength tracks: many members run Skills alongside Foundations or Intermediate so they are building pulling and pressing strength while chasing their first clean freestanding hold. It is patient, addictive, slightly humbling work — and the day it finally balances is one you do not forget.
