Questions, answered honestly

Everything first-timers ask us about starting, fitness, sparring, gear, kids and pricing. Still unsure? Just message us — we’re a friendly bunch.

Absolutely — beginners are who we built the gym for. Our Fundamentals and Boxing classes assume zero experience and zero fitness, and we lend gloves and wraps free for your first session. More than half our members started as complete beginners, and the room has no ego: you’ll be learning alongside people who were exactly where you are not long ago. Just book a trial and come as you are.
Not at all — you get fit by training, not before it. Every class can be scaled to your level, you go at your own pace, and the coaches keep a close eye so you never feel out of your depth. Plenty of our members arrived unfit and out of breath in week one and are unrecognisable a few months later. Showing up is genuinely the hardest part.
Never. Sparring is completely optional and you only join it once a coach is confident your technique and control are ready — usually after a few months. Our Fundamentals, Technique, Boxing and Kids classes involve no hard sparring at all. When you do step into sparring, intensity is capped, partners are matched fairly and a coach supervises every round. It’s learning, not fighting.
Just comfortable workout clothes, a towel, a water bottle and yourself. We lend gloves and hand wraps free for your trial, so there’s nothing to buy upfront. If you decide to keep training, we’ll help you pick your own gear when you’re ready — there’s no pressure to spend on day one.
A trial class is just $25 with gear loan included. After that you can train on a 10-Class Pack ($240, with three months to use it), an Unlimited Monthly membership ($188/month, our most popular), or join the Fight Team ($268/month) for extra sparring and fight prep. Memberships renew month by month with nothing tying you in, and a single pass is good at both our Lavender and Jurong gyms.
Fundamentals is the beginner class — stance, the basic strikes and your first pad rounds, taught from scratch. Technique is for those past the basics who want to sharpen combinations, timing and ring craft. Clinch & Knees teaches the close-range neck-tie game that gives the gym its name. Most members mix Fundamentals and Technique, then add Clinch and eventually Sparring as they progress. A coach will help you build the right mix.
Yes — our children’s class runs for ages 5 to 12, led by Coach Mei. It’s games-based, safe and full of encouragement, building coordination, fitness, focus and confidence with absolutely no hard sparring. Kids’ classes run alongside the adult timetable, so parents often train at the same time. We provide child-sized gloves and pads.
We have two gyms: Clinch Lavender (38 Kallang Pudding Road, a six-minute walk from Lavender MRT) and Clinch Jurong (12 Jurong East Street 21, near Jurong East MRT). Classes run daily — weekdays 7am to 10pm and weekends 9am to 6pm — with over sixty classes a week across both locations. Your membership works at either gym.
We keep them safe and private, used purely to set up your trial, look after your membership and update you about your training. Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) governs how we hold them: your details are never sold, never handed to a third party, and you won’t get marketing you didn’t ask for.
