A studio with standards
Aria began in 2009, when Madeleine Sng came home to Singapore after years dancing with companies abroad and found too few studios teaching the way she’d been taught: technique before tricks, readiness before grades, the dancer before the certificate.
She opened one small studio at Tanglin with a borrowed barre and a handful of dancers. Word travelled — not because of trophies, but because parents could see their children were genuinely learning, and enjoying it. A second studio at Katong followed, and the academy now teaches over six hundred dancers a year.
What hasn’t changed is the belief it was founded on: that beautiful ballet, and confident dancers, grow from honest foundations laid patiently, with care.

A Recognised Syllabus
We teach the Royal Academy of Dance graded and vocational syllabus, so progress is internationally recognised and properly structured.
Readiness, Not Rush
Dancers move up a grade and enter exams only when the work is genuinely secure — a grade well earned, never a grade pushed.
Small, Seen Classes
We keep groups small so every dancer is corrected by name, from the three-year-olds in baby ballet to dancers on pointe.
Foundation & Artistry
Technique comes first, but never at the cost of musicality and expression — we grow dancers, not just exam candidates.
