We named the firm after the keystone — the single wedge-shaped stone at the top of an arch that holds every other stone in place. Take it out and the whole structure falls. That’s how we think about HR in a growing company: it’s the unglamorous piece in the middle that quietly keeps everything else standing.
Keystone HR was started to give smaller Singapore employers the kind of senior HR support that, until now, only large companies could afford. Most SMEs we meet are stuck in the same spot — handling hiring, payroll, contracts and the occasional dispute on goodwill and Google searches, knowing it isn’t quite right, but not large enough to justify a full-time HR head.
So we became that head, shared across many firms. One accountable consultant per client, backed by specialists in payroll, immigration and recruitment, covering the whole of HR under one roof. Spent eighteen years leading HR for manufacturing and tech firms before starting Keystone to give smaller employers the senior HR judgement that only big companies could usually afford. Still personally takes on the trickiest advisory and compliance work.
Adeline keeps Keystone deliberately small and senior. She believes an SME deserves the same calibre of HR thinking as a multinational, scaled to fit — and that the firm earns its keep by being honest, even when honesty means telling a client they don’t need to spend more with us.
